Last year I participated in a scavenger hunt for World Wide Knit in Public day that the Sock Knitter’s Anonymous group on Ravelry hosted. I had a lot of fun taking pictures for the event at the farmer’s market and trying to accumulate points to win a prize package. I thought I would do this again this year, and since I would be in Alaska, I thought for sure I would win something. Unfortunately, WWKIP was a day at sea, so no pictures of socks with totem poles or ATVs or dog sleds. In fact, I was on a rather small cruise boat, so not a lot to do there either. But here’s what I came up with.
A few pictures of teaching knitting: in the morning in the lounge
At dinner, with our waiter
And Darren in a tux (it was formal night)
I also got a few shots of me participating in knit in public day. We decided to take our knitting to the pool.
In this one the sock is under water!
Hanging out by the pool
I also cast on a sock during knit in public day, and here is a picture of the finished product!
These are scylla socks in socks that rock lightweight, colorway purple rain. They look like a painting to me. I am totally enamored with STR’s colorways. They are just absolutely beautiful. I’ve bought a lot of it now and even have 2 skeins of yarn wound with patterns to knit socks with, but none on the needles, at the moment anyway. Can there be a better pair of socks for a purple lover? I gifted these to my friend Candyce and she posted a picture of them on her facebook page. They fit her, yay! I love giving people socks as long as they really want them and appreciate them.
Coming soon, last honeymoon post, Victoria BC!
