In honor of Spring Break, I’ve done a lot of knitting this week and have a few things to show for it. Sadly, this is the last day of the break so the knitting will have to slow down after this. I thought I’d show the progress I’ve made this week.
First off, I finished my arroway shawl. I was reminded while knitting this shawl how much I love mindless garter stitch stripes. I also think I picked a really nice color combo. The shawl is nice and soft, knit in Eidos and Dragonsock which are both 100% merino. Here are some finished pictures.
Next, I finished a few hexipuffs for my quilt, all out of bugga. Aren’t they so cute? I absolutely love knitting these hexes.
Finally, I wanted to share about my new sweater project, Black Eyed Susie Raglan. I decided to find a project for my String Theory DK yarn in Garnet that I was going to make into a vest, but I changed my mind. I thought a raglan would be perfect. It’s short sleeves so it shouldn’t take too much yarn. It’s knit from the bottom up and has a lace border. What you see in this picture represents two saturdays worth of knitting. I knit the back, then the front, and then joined them together. I am now onto miles of stockinette stitch in the round, another appealing part of this sweater.
I haven’t been working on my Mashad socks much, but I picked them up today again and will put some time into them to try and finish them. For some reason, I’m just in the mood to knit shawls, a sweater, vanilla socks, and hexes these days, but I’m sure I’ll find my sock knitting mojo once again when I need small brain consuming projects to fill my time.
